Purpose of The Postion
- To truly succeed in these areas it is vital we remain at the forefront of these categories in terms of our technical understanding: methodologies, category disruptions, new businesses and models, but also develop a ‘Protein’ model that is attractive to prospective clients while being true to our commitments and values as a business.
- This role is the bridge between helping our clients identify problems and guiding the team to deliver solutions – from establishing client relationships, to receiving a brief and finally leading the creation and delivery of strategic work
At Protein Agency, the head of strategy* is expected to:
- have a solid grasp of the landscape we operate in through experience, of course, but also through cultural fit
- develop bespoke methodologies and guidance for brands. Split into two key pillars:
- Insight and research (consumer insights, trend mapping, typologies, concept positioning, reports, trend programmes)
- Strategy (brand strategy, product innovation, communication strategy, strategic workshops, brand activation strategy etc)
- help us understand and interpret the world around us through research, insight and strategy; helping brands and businesses as well as Protein make better decisions and do right by all of their stakeholders.

STRATEGY 70%
Client Leadership
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of each client’s category, business and objectives
- Create frameworks for the team to build on
- Ensure key questions are asked in discussion guides & big questions are asked during analysis
- Create and deliver client presentations
- Guide the team in delivering the brief by driving high-quality and innovative outputs on a day to day basis
- Ideate and deliver methodologies that are bespoke and on point to the clients aims and objectives
- Manage a team to ensure that members collaborate with project managers, partners, design and production to deliver on time and within budget
- Guide the team in drawing insights from research and articulating key findings relating to client objectives and writing clear and inspirational content that clearly articulates insights
- Ensure you are close to the work by having hands on involvement every now and again ( eg. leading an interview)
- Ensure that the insights land within the business; distilling a narrative and or tangible outputs useful to the client
Team Leadership
- Keep the team informed and engaged on what's happening in culture, foster a symbiotic system and flat hierarchy of knowledge sharing and growth opportunities
- Help develop the strategy team by having input in relevant team members growth within the Professional Development Programme, internal and external training programme and providing feedback to the team
- Use team meetings as an opportunity to share knowledge and proactively contribute to the development of methodologies
GROWTH STRATEGY 30%
Working closely with C-level and Heads
- Be the main point of contact for new client relationships within the insight/strategy services for Protein Agency by investigating leads and qualifying opportunities; e.g. from marketing and content campaigns, as well as direct inbound requests
- Play a lead role in the creation of winning pitches and proposals, designing insight and strategy methodologies and solutions that chime with our wider company ethos and culture (solutions that are progressive, inclusive and effective for those we work with)
- Identify new opportunities: clients, categories and products to leverage
- Contribute towards the creation of - and ultimately lead - a strategic sales plan for the insight/strategy services. This sales plan will underpin the growth of Protein Agency each year (inline with the wider Agency strategy and company mission)
- Work closely with the accounts team to align on account strategy and provide recommendations on next steps and strategic guidance to the client
- Proactively identify and drive opportunities to grow and expand our work with existing clients
Ambassador for Protein Agency
- Work closely with the team to ensure we create relevant opportunities for connecting with potential and existing clients (E.g. ongoing content, cultural and marketing events)
- Help build the Protein brand externally through personal networks and industry exposure
- Help identify relevant industry events we should be present at and who from the team is best placed to attend
- Plan strategic travel and client visits to establish or solidify relationship with clients
- Help conceptualise and contribute to our Protein brand outputs (content, events etc.)
